CELEBRATING PHENOMENAL WOMEN
Since 2006, we have advocated on behalf of women. Through the annual Celebrating Phenomenal Women soirees; we have shared the importance of taking time to smell the roses!! Held during Women's History Month, the event provides women with a positive forum to share, meet new women, catch up with sisters, girlfriends and coworkers --all while being "treated" to live entertainment, a delicious three-course meal, a champagne "Toast to Phenomenal Women", special gifts, surprises, and more FUN than you would imagine could even fit into one day!
The 2020 soiree was canceled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The importance of health went from a general focus to reality when EVibe Publisher Alicia Gibbs suffered an ischemic stroke in October of 2012. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of adult disability. Yet, research shows that too few people know what a stroke is, how to recognize when a stroke is happening, or the risk factors for having a stroke. Thankful for a full recovery, Alicia became a Stroke Ambassador; sharing her story with the Las Vegas community and with the National Stroke Association in their Faces of Stroke campaign.
In the words of Maya Angelou, 'when you learn, teach'. The PhenomSpeak series offers opportunities for women to network with; learn from and be inspired by other women. Launched in 2015, the event has gathered groups of women to focus on a variety of thought-provoking topics ranging from feminism, racism, sexism, motherhood, and men -- to building better friendships and businesses! A Community Service component is a large part of the event; it allows women an opportunity to participate in a hands-on project that supports a local organization impacting women. This is accomplished in collaboration with partners and businesses in Las Vegas. Invitations to these empowerng forums are shared via EVibe. Stay tuned for the next PhenomSpeak!
